About aichecker.tech
We believe AI detection should be free, private, and accessible to everyone. No paywalls, no accounts, no data collection.
Our Story
aichecker.tech was founded in 2024 by a team of machine learning engineers and industry veterans who saw a growing problem: as AI-generated content flooded the internet, the tools to detect it were locked behind expensive subscriptions and institutional paywalls.
We had spent years building production ML systems at scale and understood the underlying technology intimately. We knew that accurate AI detection didn't require enterprise pricing. The core challenge was engineering, not economics. So we set out to build something different: a detection tool that was genuinely free, required no account, stored no data, and matched the accuracy of premium alternatives.
What started as a weekend prototype quickly grew into a full platform. Today, aichecker.tech serves millions of checks per month from educators, students, journalists, content managers, and writers across 140+ countries.
Why Free AI Detection Matters
The rise of large language models has fundamentally changed the landscape of written content. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and dozens of other AI tools can produce fluent, convincing text on any topic in seconds. This creates real challenges for academic integrity, journalistic credibility, content originality, and trust in digital communication.
We believe the ability to verify whether content is human-written or machine-generated is a public good, not a premium feature. When AI detection is gated behind $30/month subscriptions, the people who need it most — independent teachers, students at under-resourced schools, freelance journalists, small publishers — are the ones left without access.
That's why aichecker.tech is free. No freemium tricks. No word-count limits that force upgrades. No accounts that harvest your email for marketing. Just paste, analyze, and get your answer.
Our Philosophy
Three principles guide everything we build:
Privacy First
Your text is analyzed and immediately discarded. We don't store submissions, build profiles, or train models on your content. Zero data retention, zero tracking cookies, zero behavioral profiling. The only analytics we run is Cloudflare's cookieless Web Analytics — read the details.
Accuracy Without Compromise
We use GPT-4o-powered forensic analysis examining five independent signals simultaneously. Our detection achieves 99.1% accuracy on unmodified AI text. We publish our methodology because transparency builds trust.
Accessible by Default
No account walls. No credit card requirements. No artificial limits. The full power of our detection engine is available to every user, every time, from anywhere in the world.
The Technology
Our detection engine analyzes text across five forensic signals: perplexity (word predictability), burstiness (sentence length variation), sentence uniformity, formal transition frequency, and vocabulary repetition patterns. These signals are evaluated simultaneously rather than individually, producing a composite probability score that accounts for the complex interplay between human and AI writing characteristics.
We continuously test against the latest AI models as they're released, including GPT-4o, Claude 3.5, Gemini Ultra, Llama 3, and Mistral. Our plagiarism checker separately compares text against billions of indexed web pages to identify copied content.
The full technical write-up — including signal definitions, output sanitization, accuracy benchmarks per model, and an honest list of known limitations — is published on our methodology page. We update it whenever the detection engine changes.
Editorial Standards
Every published page on aichecker.tech — explainers, accuracy guides, per-model write-ups, and the methodology itself — is maintained by the aichecker.tech editorial team. Our editorial policy is straightforward:
- Specificity over marketing. When we cite accuracy figures, we tie them to specific models and modes (unmodified vs. edited). When the data degrades, we say so.
- Publish limitations. Every long-form page calls out where detection fails: paraphrased text, non-native English, formulaic academic writing, very short samples. Hiding limitations erodes trust.
- Dated content. Every methodology and accuracy claim carries a last-reviewed date.
- Corrections welcome. If you spot a factual error or a stale claim, email editorial@aichecker.tech. We review and correct.
