Privacy Policy

The Short Version

We don't store your text. We don't sell data. We don't use tracking cookies. Your text is analyzed in real-time and immediately discarded. We use Cloudflare's privacy-preserving Web Analytics for aggregate page-view counts — it sets no cookies, performs no fingerprinting, and collects no personal data.

1. Information We Don't Collect

Unlike most web services, we intentionally minimize data collection:

• Submitted text: Text you submit for AI detection or plagiarism checking is processed in real-time by our analysis engine and is never stored, logged, or retained after results are returned.
• User accounts: We don't require or offer user accounts. There is no registration, no email collection, and no user profiles.
• Tracking cookies: We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or behavioral profiling.
• Cross-site tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or fingerprinting platform.

1b. Aggregate Detection Metrics (no text stored)

To publish honest accuracy and usage statistics, we log a tiny, non-reversible summary of each detection or plagiarism run: a 64-bit SHA-256 hash prefix of your input (truncated so the original text cannot be reconstructed), the score and verdict our engine returned, the word count, and a timestamp. The raw text is never written to the database, never logged to disk, and never associated with your IP address. These aggregate metrics power our public stats endpoint and let us validate that detection scores are well-calibrated over time. 1a. Privacy-Preserving Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page-view counts. Cloudflare Web Analytics is specifically designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not set any cookies, does not fingerprint users, does not track users across sites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. The beacon collects only anonymous, aggregated metrics such as page URL, referrer, country, and basic device class. This is the only third-party script that runs on our pages, and you can verify this in your browser's developer tools. See Cloudflare's blog post on privacy-first analytics for technical details.

2. Information Automatically Collected

When you access aichecker.tech, our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) may automatically process:

• IP address: Used temporarily for rate limiting (5 checks per minute, 50 per day) and abuse prevention. IP addresses are held in server memory only and are not written to persistent storage. Per-minute counters reset every 60 seconds; daily counters reset every 24 hours.
• HTTP headers: Standard request headers (User-Agent, Accept-Language) are processed by Cloudflare's edge network for security and performance. We do not log or store these.

3. How Your Text Is Processed

When you submit text for analysis:

• Your text is sent to our servers via HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
• For AI detection: the text is forwarded to OpenAI's API for forensic analysis, then the response is sanitized and returned to you
• For plagiarism checking: the text is forwarded to our scanning partner for source matching, then results are sanitized and returned to you
• In both cases, the text exists in server memory only for the duration of the request (typically 1–3 seconds) and is not written to any database, log file, or persistent storage

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate:

• Cloudflare: Hosts our application at the network edge and provides privacy-preserving Web Analytics (described in section 1a). Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI API: Processes text for AI detection. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, text sent via their API is not used for model training.
• Google Fonts: Loads Inter, Lora, and JetBrains Mono typefaces. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Security

All connections to aichecker.tech are encrypted using TLS 1.3 (HTTPS). We enforce HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), Content Security Policy (CSP), and other security headers to protect against common web attacks. Our application runs on Cloudflare's global edge network with built-in DDoS protection.

6. Children's Privacy

aichecker.tech does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age. The Service does not require any personal information to use.

7. International Users

aichecker.tech is operated from the United States but served globally via Cloudflare's edge network. By using the Service, you consent to the processing of your data as described in this policy. Because we don't collect or store personal data, GDPR data subject requests (access, deletion, portability) are not applicable — there is no personal data to access, delete, or port.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
